Chandra translates to “moon” in English, embodying a cool and calm nature. In this Pranayama, inhaling through the left nostril, known as Ida Nadi, helps to soothe the mind and relax the body. This technique is also referred to as Chandra Nadi Pranayama.
How to Perform Chandra Bhedi Pranayama
Sit comfortably in any asana or relaxed position.
Ensure your spine and neck are straight.
Place your left hand on your left knee in Gyan Mudra.
Use your right hand to close and open the nostril.
Position your index finger at the base of your right thumb.
Close your right nostril with your thumb.
Inhale through the left nostril.
Hold the breath for as long as you can.
Exhale through the right nostril by removing your thumb.
Beginners should aim to practice this 5 to 10 times.
Continue the process of inhaling from the left nostril, holding, and exhaling from the right nostril.

Always practice on an empty stomach.
